Wild Arcana is an interesting novel, with chapters organized around the Major Arcana, or the twenty-two symbolic picture cards of the tarot deck. In the first chapter, the major characters are at a party where the host, Ryder, gives them a group tarot reading. The characters are told that they are entwined in ways that they do not understand, and that despite their current material wealth and heady lifestyles, a fall is soon coming. Each of them has a monumental change coming, and they will soon suffer each other’s defeats and heartbreaks.
